H.R.1109: Mental Health Services for Students Act of 2019

Overview

The Mental Health Services Act would provide funding for public schools to partner with local mental health professionals to establish on-site mental health care services for students. Overall, the legislation would provide $200,000,000 in competitive grants of up to $1,000,000 to be distributed by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), which would set guidelines and measure the outcomes of the funded programs.

S. 1122 is the Senate companion bill.
