H.R.1488: Child Care Workforce and Facilities Act of 2019
Overview
Child Care Workforce and Facilities Act (H.R. 1488) would provide $100 million annually over 7 years in competitive grants that states can use to educate, train and/or retain childcare workers. This bill is aimed at alleviating the workforce shortfalls and rising costs of childcare. Grant funds could also be used to build, renovate or expand childcare facilities. These grants would be limited to covering 50% of the cost of programs it supports.
S. 605 is the Senate companion bill introduced by Sen. Amy Klobuchar.
