H.R.2480: Stronger Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act

Overview

The Stronger Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act (H.R. 2480) would reauthorize and expand the Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act (CAPTA) and title II of the Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment and Adoption Reform Act. Expanding these programs would improve states’ ability to address the recent rise in child abuse and neglect by providing strategic funding to build networks of prevention services designed to strengthen families and to improve the quality of child protective services The bill would appropriate the $3.6 billion through 2025 for these programs.
