Overview

The Establishing Mandatory Minimums for Illegal Reentry Act establishes a mandatory minimum five-year prison term (not more than six years) for removed aliens who unlawfully reenter the United States.

The bill also establishes mandatory minimum prison terms for removed aliens convicted of certain serious crimes, including three or more misdemeanors involving drugs or an aggravated felony as defined by the immigration law.
