H.R.4457: Chronic Condition Copay Elimination Act

Overview

The Chronic Condition Copay Elimination Act (H.R. 4457) would require health insurance companies to provide additional preventive care for individuals with chronic conditions at no charge. Under this bill, the following would be offered to patients with chronic conditions without any fees or cost-sharing:
1) Diabetes-related medications like insulin, and devices like glucometers;
2) Asthma-related medications like inhaled corticosteroids and devices like peak flow meters;
3) Heart disease-related medications like ACE inhibitors, beta-blockers, and statins;
4) Depression-related medications like selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs);
5) Osteoporosis and osteopenia-related medications;
6) Hypertension-related medications;
7) Liver disease-related medications; and
8) Beeding disorder-related medications.
