Overview
The Uplift Workers Act (H.R. 5073) would direct “the Department of Labor (DoL) to create a ‘worker-friendly score’ for federal contracts. This “Score” would consider factors including, paid family leave, scheduling predictability, hourly wage, and union membership when grading contractors. Thereafter DoL is to provide all federal agencies with recommendations on how to evaluate these companies when making contracting decisions.
