S.116: MOMS Act

Overview

The MOMS Act (S. 116) would establish the Alliance for Innovation on Maternal Health program through HHS and allocate it $5 million annually through FY2024. This program would facilitate the implementation of standardized best-practices to prevent, identify, and appropriately respond to pregnancy-related complications and help reduce maternal mortality. The bill would also create a $40 million grant program to help states and hospitals implement maternal safety best practices.
