S.2255: Supporting Positive Outcomes After Release Act
Overview
The Supporting Positive Outcomes After Release Act (S. 2255) would suspend, rather than terminate, and individual’s eligibility for medical assistance under the State Medicaid Plan while the person is an inmate of a public institution. This would apply to inmates of any age, as opposed to only juveniles. The legislation would be retroactive.
The House companion bill is H.R. 3053.
