S.2373: Rural Maternal and Obstetric Modernization of Services Act
The Rural MOMS Act is bipartisan, bicameral legislation that would expand initiatives to address maternal health in rural areas through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). The bill would provide $15,000,000 in funding over the next five years to establish rural obstetric networks for improving outcomes in birth and maternal morbidity as well as expand existing federal telehealth grant programs. This bill would also authorize the CDC to award $25,000,000 in grants over the next five years to train medical professionals in maternal services and academic programs that study ways to improve maternal care in rural areas.
H.R. 4243 is the House companion bill.
