Overview

The Elementary and Secondary School Counseling Act (S.2499) would establish two five-year renewable grant programs to staff elementary and secondary schools with counselors, psychologists, and social workers. The bill would authorize $5 billion in federal grants to be distributed to school districts contingent on that state providing matching funds to improving student mental health and wellness.
