S.3088: ACHA Act

Overview

The Averting Crises in Housing Assistance Act (S.3088) would improve HUD oversight of public housing conditions by strengthing HUD’s ability to intervene in properties that they deem “failing” and investing $70 billion in the Public Housing Capital Fund to rehabilitate and modernize existing public housing. The bill would also require HUD to partner with public housing agencies (PHAs) to develop “action plans” with to goal of bringing failing public housing developments up to satisfactory condition.
