The Disabled Veterans Tax Termination Act would allow disabled veterans the simultaneous receipt of two types of federal monetary benefits: military retired pay and Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) disability compensation. It would also extend eligibility for concurrent receipt to chapter 61 disability retirees with less than 20 years of service.
The Retired Pay Restoration Act would end the offset of retirement pay and disability benefits for more than 450,000 military retirees, allowing disabled veterans to receive a concurrent receipt of disability compensation in recognition of their injuries and pension following their military service.
