S.931: Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit Enhancement Act of 2019

Overview

Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit Enhancement Act (S. 931) would modify the Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit (CDCTC), to be available to more families with children. First, the bill would double the amount of child care expenses a family can claim, to $6,000 for one child, and $12,000 for two or more children. Additionally, the bill would allow families to claim a larger percentage of their child care expenses. The bill would also make the CDCTC fully refundable for all families and index the dollar amount allowed to deduct to inflation.

H.R. 1967 is the House companion bill introduced by Rep. Danny Davis.
